This reader's guide to the book "Damien and the Bells" introduces children to Joseph Damien DeVeuster's early life in Belgium and his call to priesthood.  

Father Damien was a faithful priest in the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (ss. cc.)  religious order.  The Congregation has produced a pamphlet in his honor, entitled "Servant of God, Servant of Humanity" , suitable for students in grades 7 and 8.
